PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel of which the fatigue strength is improved while its tensile strength is maintained constant. SOLUTION: The fatigue strength-improved steel exhibits, for normal steel, physical properties that a fatigue limit(σ<SB>W</SB>) defined as 10<SP>7</SP>times satisfiesσ<SB>W</SB>>0.6σ<SB>B</SB>to tensile strength(σ<SB>B</SB>) or satisfiesσ<SB>W</SB>>1.8 HV to Vickers hardness HV and exhibits, for high strength steel having a tensile strength of≥120 MPa, physical properties that a fatigue limit(σ<SB>W</SB>) defined as 10<SP>10</SP>times satisfiesσ<SB>W</SB>>0.5σ<SB>B</SB>to tensile strength(σ<SB>B</SB>) or satisfiesσ<SB>W</SB>>1.6 HV to Vickers hardness HV.
