[Also in Division B1] A liquid to be filtered and treated with a predetermined amount of chemical is divided into two streams. Both are passed through filtering elements of the same filtering characteristics with predetermined filtering areas for each. One of the streams is passed through a dosing agent to form a soluble treatment liquid and is mixed with the other filtered stream whereby the proportion of dosing solution in the final liquid is controlled by the relative areas of filter elements and maintained substantially constant throughout the filtration because of the similarity of the filtering characteristics of the filter areas.</p> |
