<p>Fluid passageway (36''') are defined by the top plate 30, tool holder body 22 and the cutting insert 27 to permit the optimum cooling of the interface between the insert and the word piece reducing degradation of the cutting edge of the insert. A number of top plate designs with channel configurations are disclosed to provide the desired coolant flow distribution and accommodate the desired flow rate.
