A portable electronic device such as an IC card equipped with an IC module and an improved receiving structure of the IC module is provided to protect the portable electronic device without breaking the IC module or a card substrate even if bending or torsional external force is applied to the IC card. The card substrate(K) has a receiving concaved part. The IC module(1) comprises a substrate(2), an LSI(Large Scale IC)(3) installed to the substrate, and a protecting member(6) covering the LSI, and is received in the receiving concaved part from a protecting member side. A reinforcing projection part(11) is installed along a circumference at a face facing to a bottom part in the receiving concaved part of the protecting member. The reinforcing projection part is formed in a rectangular frame shape. |
