PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of arithmetic units necessary for performing window matching, while suppressing the increase in the arithmetic time. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus, with respect to a current reference area 221 of a reference image 191, the first sum of products of the first column of a previous reference area 201 and a first column 231-0 of a previous comparison area 202-0 and the second sum of products of the fifth column of the current reference area 221 and a fifth column 232-0 of the current comparison area 222-0 are calculated. The image processor is configured to subtract the first sum of products from the already calculated sum of products of the previous reference area 201 and the previous comparison area 202-0 when the number of matching M=0, and to add the second sum of the products, to calculate the sum of products of the current reference area 221 and the comparator area 222-0.
