<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing method, supporting a printer, such that the printer can be efficiently used as a printer wherein error-coping work or the like is avoided. <P>SOLUTION: In this information processing apparatus producing and transmitting print data to a selected printer of a plurality of communicable printers, status of a prescribed printer is acquired, and switching processing of a registered default printer is performed, on the basis of the acquired status of the prescribed printer. This switching processing is executed, on the basis of priority order as the default printer of the printer. The printer having a status change is detected, it is decided whether the printer of a highest priority order is a printer having the status changed, and the switching processing of the default printer can be executed on the basis of a decision result thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
