<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital apparatus network system for reducing any useless traffic in a request and a response between a server and a client. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 1 is provided with a Web server function, and configured to wait for a request from a personal computer 2. Upon receiving the request from the personal computer, the printer 1 executes processing corresponding to the request contents, and transmits the processing result to a personal computer. The printer 1 executes asynchronous event processing independent of processing based on the request from the personal computer, and notifies the personal computer. The personal computer is provided with a mechanism for mainly receiving the asynchronous event notification to execute processing corresponding to the contents of the asynchronous event notification.
