<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite writing utensil which is manufactured at a reduced cost achieved by simplifying a mold configuration and further, is free from the fear that when a user holds the writing utensil during writing, he may have a sense of discomfort due to its clip rubbing his hand and besides, allows free setting of an appearance and a material of the clip. <P>SOLUTION: This composite writing utensil is structured so that three pieces of writing element are housed in a barrel 2 so as to enable the writing element to move forward/backward. A manipulator is attached to the rear end of the writing element; three pieces of window hole 21, extending in the forward/backward direction, through which the manipulator projects, are opened through the side wall of a rear end part of the barrel 2; and the outer surface of the side wall of a rear end part of the barrel 2 is molded using mold halves B1 and B2 which can be split in two directions. In addition, the outer open edge parts 21a of two pieces of window hole 21 are molded by one mold half B1, while the outer open edge part 21a of one window hole 21 and the outer open edge part 22a of one clip fitting hole 22 are molded by the other mold half B2.
