<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer belt unit having a particularly inexpensive constitution, in which deviation in color due to meanderings of a belt between respective color stations is small, in an image forming apparatus for solving the drawback in the transfer belt (in particular, quadruple tandem color machine). <P>SOLUTION: In the system provided with the transfer belt 13 disposed opposite cylindrical image carriers K, C, M, and Y, a side guide 10 having a protruded or recessed part is provided on at least one side of the transfer belt 13, and the optical system write start position is controlled so that the image carriers K, C, M, and Y are exposed with the phase (direction) reverse to the rotational variation of the roller end face position engaged with (disposed opposite and brought into contact with) the side of the protruded or recessed part. Because the optical system write position is controlled so that the shake of the roller end face is canceled, the shake of the roller end face, as the main component of the meanderings of the belt, can be removed with the simple constitution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
