PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conversion method capable of acquiring highly-accurate and proper image compression for resolution conversion of an image. SOLUTION: An original image is enlarged to an image having the enlarged number of pixels (S2), and the original image is enlarged by linear interpolation (S3), and an image determined by calculating the difference between both enlarged images in each pixel (S4), and when the value of each pixel determined by performing differential operation is below a set threshold, a difference table wherein the difference between the pixels is set at zero is formed (S5-S7), and information of the difference table is transmitted as reference information of the original image (S8). Since information carried by a plurality of images relative to the same object is summarized into one image, a method is included, wherein a difference error adjacent to a pixel is taken in the enlarged image and in an image wherein fine parts are photographed, and replacement with a pixel on a part having the smallest difference error is performed. When a character is included in the image, character contour information is acquired by taking the difference to an image having the small number of pixels or an image having the large number of pixels relative to the image.
