PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the movement of a spare tire to the inside of a cabin at a rear-end collision. SOLUTION: This spare tire holding structure comprises a tire carrier 14 for holding the spare tire, a tire carrier reinforcement 24 which is arranged on the back door 12 of a vehicle body and mounts the tire carrier, and a lower back panel 30 as a body-side frame forming the periphery of a back door opening 29 formed in the rear part of the vehicle body. An extension part 24D extending to an overlapping position with the body-side frame in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body is disposed in at least one of the tire carrier 14 and the tire carrier reinforcement 24.
