PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high recording quality in a low-cost recording device in which the ink jetting accuracy of a recording head and the transfer accuracy of a recording material in a subsidiary scanning direction is low. SOLUTION: The transport position in the subsidiary scanning direction Y of a recording paper sheet P is stored as a reference position (Step S1) and a main scanning action is initiated by a carriage 61 (Step S2). During the main scanning operation, it is judged whether the recording head 62 is in the recording area FA of the recording paper sheet P (Step S3). When the recording head 62 is in the recording area FA of the recording paper sheet P (Yes at Step S3), the recording head 62 is driven while vibrating the recording paper sheet P by an amplitudeαin the subsidiary scanning direction Y by recording paper vibration control (Step S4). When the recording head 62 is not in the recording area FA of the recording paper sheet P (No at Step S3), the action of vibrating the recording paper sheet P in the subsidiary scanning direction Y is stopped and the jetting of an ink from the recording head 62 is also stopped (Step S5).
