To provide an agent generated from a steel-making process, which is able to be used for preserving marine ecosystem and eliminating contaminants of seawater by adjusting the pH thereof. The agent is prepared by crushing air-cooled slag generated from an iron-making process and aging the crushed slag and comprises 15-35% of SiO2, 30-50% of CaO, 2-15% of Al2O3, 3-10% of MgO, 1-6% of MnO, 1-18% of FeO, and small amount of inevitable elements. The agent is sprayed on the seawater to increase alkalinity of the seawater. |
