摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an oxidation catalyst for removing a harmful gas having an activity for oxidizing and decomposing aldehydes contained in air at a relatively low temperature (below 150&deg;C) and capable of keeping the activity over a long period of time and excellent in durability. <P>SOLUTION: This oxidation catalyst for oxidizing and decomposing the aldehydes is composed of a titania carrier and a main catalytically active component and a cocatalyst component supported on the titania carrier. The specific surface area calculated by a nitrogen gas adsorbing method of the titania carrier is 100 m<SP>2</SP>/g or above, the main catalytically active component is a platinum group metal, the amount of the main catalytically active component carried is 0.5-5 wt.% of the titania carrier while the cocatalyst component is boron oxide and/or phosphorus oxide and the amount thereof carried is 1.5-6.5 wt.% with respect to the titania carrier as B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and/or P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
