<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of correcting astigmatism in the entire tracking range. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a semiconductor laser 1, an objective lens 6 for converging a light emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 on an optical disk 9, a liquid crystal panel disposed between the semiconductor laser 1 and the objective lens 6 for changing the wave surface of a transmitted light, and a liquid crystal panel control circuit 4 for outputting a voltage for changing the wave surface to the liquid crystal panel 3. The liquid crystal panel 3 generates the wave surface of the transmitted light so as to cancel astigmatism caused by the movement of the objective lens 6 in a tracking direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
