PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recorder in which one part of data can be specified and taken out even in the case of long time continuous recording. SOLUTION: In a recorder which can perform recording and reading of data by random access and has a recording means (HDD) 3 where many sectors which can be specified by an address are formed, the device is provided with a writing file creation means 12 in which header information is added to received data to prepare a file, and which outputs the prepared file, file size, and file preparation date information, and a file recording/control means 14 for receiving the file, the file size, and file preparation date information from the this writing file creation means, writing the file in a data region of the recording means in address order, and controlling date control information specifying its writing range in the unit of the date based on the file preparation date information.
