PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welded retainer capable of preventing faulty rotation and reduction of life caused by heaped bead and having desired welding strength under severe operating conditions at low costs. SOLUTION: In the welded retainer 1 in which a beltlike steel sheet having a plurality of pockets 2 for housing rollers is rounded into a circular shape and both ends of the steel sheet are butted and welded, a joined face 7 at one end among joined portions to be welded is provided with two straight portions 7a and a recessed portion 7b narrowing its opening, and a joined face 8 at other end is provided with two straight portions 8a and a projected portion 8b fitting with the recessed portion 7b. Bead on these joined faces 7 and 8 is prevented from heaping on sides of a breadth face 9 and a pocket 2 by setting heating quantity to the straight portions 7a and 8a at a low level, and their joined strength is increased by setting heating quantity to the recessed and projected portions 7b and 8b at a large level.
