PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw compressor capable of enhancing compressing performance by preventing a leakage of an operating fluid from the discharge side of a male rotor side working chamber through a female rotor side working chamber. SOLUTION: This screw compressor 1 has a male rotor 3 provided with three spiral teeth 2a-2c; a female rotor 5 provided with five spiral teeth 4a-4e meshed with the male rotor 3; and a casing 6 enclosing the male rotor 3 and the female rotor 5 to form the male rotor side working chambers and the female rotor side working chambers and provided with an intake port 9 communicating the male rotor side working chambers 13Ba, 13Ca and female rotor side working chambers 14B, 14C, 14Da with an intake port 8 for taking in the operating fluid. The whole winding angleαof the male rotor 3 is set so that the discharge side of the male rotor side working chamber 13A with the intake side closed without communicating with the intake port 8 and the discharge side of the female rotor side working chamber 14B with the intake side communicating with the intake port 8 through the intake port 9 do not communicate with each other.
