A method for enhancing the image quality of a color image being displayed on a color image apparatus or being outputted therefrom in which flexible color correction is realized by making a user select a color or an area becoming the object of interest and using it as the central color in color correction. The image color correcting device (1), performing color correction of an input image (2) and supplying an output image to an image display section (3), comprises a means (10) for selecting a color correction object or an objective color from an image outputted from the image display section (3), and a color correction processing section (11) for calculating the central color of the selected object or the objective color as the central color of correction and correcting the output image to a desired color by correcting the central color.
