BURST OPTICAL RECEIVING DEVICE BY GAIN SWITCH SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device where a wide reception dynamic range and miniaturization are attained in high speed optical burst signal reception.

SOLUTION: In the receiving device of a base station, an outer reset signal is inputted to a preamplifier, and the preamplifier switches a gain in accordance with optical burst signal intensity from each slave station. When the gain is switched, a reset signal is transmitted to ATC in a post-stage and a received signal level discrimination threshold of ATC is set again. Since the signal determination threshold of ATC in the post-stage is set again in accordance with the gain switching of the preamplifier, ATC can set an appropriate signal determination threshold corresponding to an output of the preamplifier.
