<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device excellent in operability whereby the user can designate a surely applicable recording medium from the side of an information processing device and can surely recognize this in the recording device with a recording medium supplying part for selectively supplying a plurality of kinds of recording media. <P>SOLUTION: The recording device enables giving and receiving of information between a recording device body 100 which carries out a recording operation to the recording medium, and a predetermined information processing device 500. The recording device is equipped with the recording medium supplying part capable of selectively supplying different kinds of recording media to the recording device body 100, a storage means 404 with medium information related to the plurality of kinds of recording media stored therein, a discriminating means 401 for discriminating the recording medium suppliable from the recording medium supplying part, and a communication means 405 for reading out the medium information corresponding to the recording medium discriminated by the discriminating means 401 and transmitting the information to the information processing device 500. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
