PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing pre-load device by which a pre-load of a bearing can be grasped quantitatively, changed, and adjusted, and the pre-load can be changed without disassembling a rotary electric machine, even if troubles such as bearing sound occur. SOLUTION: The bearing pre-load device is constituted of a bearing supported by fitting it to the load side and the anti-load side of a rotating shaft of the rotary electric machine; and inner/outer rings of one bearing are fixed. A pre-load spring for axially applying the pre-load is arranged on the outer ring of the other bearing; the pre-load spring is arranged on the outside of a bearing housing engaged with an external end face of the outer ring of the other bearing; the spring force of the pre-load spring is received with a thrust bearing presser foot fixed to the rotating shaft via the thrust bearing; and the pre-load is applied to the other bearing.
