PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of carrying out white balance processing with simple arithmetic processing for a signal outputted while being subjected to any of a linear conversion characteristic and a logarithmic conversion characteristic from a solid-state imaging element provided in the imaging apparatus wherein the linear conversion characteristic and the logarithmic conversion characteristic are automatically switched for the photoelectric conversion characteristic. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus switches an operating characteristic of pixels each provided with RGB filters in accordance with a photographing environment such as the sunlight or tungsten light so that the photoelectric conversion characteristics of GB signals are each switched at the same luminance.
