A polymerizable adamantane derivative represented by the following formula (1): (1) wherein R<1> represents fluorine or fluoroalkyl and the adamantane ring may be substituted. Examples of the fluoroalkyl include trifluoromethyl, pentafluoroethyl, 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl, 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethyl, and heptafluoropropyl.
