This invention relates to a method for the evaluation of potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of incontinence, as well as to a method for discovering new therapeutic agents for the treatment of incontinence.The method is based on instilling cold liquid into the bladder of a guinea pig in the presence or absence of a test compound, and measuring the lowering of the threshold volume for bladder contractions compared to the normal cystometric capacity.
