<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner density sensor which can be miniaturized at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The toner density sensor is provided with a photodetecting means arranged in a position where light reflected by the surface of the image carrier can be detected by discharging light at a discharging exposure process, and a reference toner image transferred onto the image carrier is irradiated with the light by the discharging exposure, and the light reflected by the reference toner image is received by the photodetecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
