HYBRID POWER SYSTEM AND METHOD

A hybrid power system including a fuel cell, a secondary power source and a controller to multiplex the fuel cell and secondary power source is presented. The controller is adapted to signal a load device to reduce a load; to start the fuel cell and provide power from the secondary power source while the fuel cell is starting; to signal a load device that the fuel cell is starting, and to charge the secondary power source with the fuel cell.
