<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem wherein fragmentation (block division) occurs, when a cumulative writing number increases in a flash memory, it takes time to retrieve a writable continuous area of the internal flash memory when writing data, and there is a possibility that recording of the data cannot be completed within a unit time, when recording a moving image or an image having a large data amount. <P>SOLUTION: Before an initialization process of file management information inside a memory card 11 installed/uninstalled to/from a card socket 10, electric erasure processing is executed to the whole area of the memory card 11, to dissolve a fragmentation occurrence situation of the flash memory inside the memory card 11.
