<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell capable of providing high output even in a high-temperature low-humidification condition or a high-current-density condition, and of preventing catalyst activity from being degraded even when used over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode for a fuel cell is provided with an aggregated polymer electrolyte, and a catalyst layer including catalyst or a catalyst support with catalyst supported. For the aggregated polymer electrolyte, its maximum dimension is preferably 100 nm to 30 μm. In addition, the equivalent weight of the aggregated polymer electrolyte is preferably 500-1,500 g/eq. The catalyst layer is preferably provided with an inclined structure wherein the content of the aggregated polymer electrolyte is decreased and the content of the catalyst or the catalyst support with catalyst supported is increased toward an electrode/gas phase interface from an electrolyte/electrode interface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
