PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of simplifying the piping work of pipes expanded to an outdoor location, and improving the appearance of a wall face at an outdoor side, with respect to the air conditioner comprising a ventilating device performing the ventilation through a wall hole on which a refrigerant pipe is mounted. SOLUTION: This air conditioner where an indoor unit and an outdoor unit are connected by the refrigerant pipe through the wall hole, further comprises the ventilating device having an outdoor fan, a fan case accommodating the outdoor fan, and an air supply/exhaust passage for communicating indoor and outdoor sides of a house through the wall hole. A protection cover 22 is mounted for covering an outdoor part of the ventilating device in a state of inserting the refrigerant pipe. The protection cover 22 is attached to the wall face of a building, and has a back plate 25 and an outer cover 27 mounted on the back plate 25 for covering the fan case and the refrigerant pipe.
