PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the cost needed to the pulverization as possible in a dephosphorizing method for blowing lime powder without using a melting point depressant. SOLUTION: Into molten iron held in a converter type reaction vessel, the lime powder having≥50 mass% coarse powder of 1-2.38 mm of grain size and <50 mass% fine powder of≤1 mm of grain size, is blown from a top-blown lance. In this time, as an auxiliary raw material, further, ladle slag or fluorite can be added.
