<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency ultrasonic wave actuator which can easily control the output performance. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator is constituted of an upper back disc 21, a piezoelectric ceramic plate (PZT) 22, an electrode 23, and a lower back disc 24, the piezoelectric ceramic 22 and the electrode 23 installed in between the upper/lower back discs 21, 24 are fixed by a bolt 25 and a nut 26. By selecting a variable parameter, structural asymmetry in the upper back disc 21 is generated, the actuator is made to periodically output asymmetric tangential thrust, when a voltage is applied to the electrode 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
