<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and an image processing apparatus capable of maintaining the security of image data, even when processing is performed with two or more image processing apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: When image data received by a printer 3a is transferred to other printer 3c and distributed processing, proxy processing, or the like is performed, an encryption key which is used for encrypting the image data to be transferred to the other printer 3c, and a decoding key which is used for decoding the encrypted image data are formed by the printer 3a. By using the formed encryption key, the image data to be transferred to the other printer 3c are encrypted by the printer 3a, and the encrypted image data and the formed decoding key are transferred from the printer 3a to the other printer 3c separately at different timings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
