<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective device for a front passenger seat of a vehicle capable of accurately protecting an occupant on the front passenger seat without imparting unnatural feeling to the occupant. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with an occupant lower limb protective device 10 for protecting lower limbs of the front passenger seat occupant A and an occupant upper part protective device 20 for protecting an upper part of the occupant A which are stored and arranged in front of the occupant A sitting on the front passenger seat PS in a normal state, and a control device for controlling the occupant lower limb protective device 10 and the occupant upper protective device 20 based on detection results from an occupant physique detecting sensor and a collision detecting sensor. Both of the occupant lower limb protective device 10 and the occupant upper protective device 20 have a plurality of operation forms. Each of the operation forms of each of the devices 10 and 20 is selected by the control device based on the detection result from the occupant physique detecting sensor.
