<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a camera from falling with a zoom lens extended the front of the camera. <P>SOLUTION: A lens protection program includes a first step (S1 and S2) in which the detection values of the grip sensor and acceleration sensor of a camera body are judged at predetermined time intervals, and a second step (S3) in which when it is judged in the first step that the camera body is not gripped and the acceleration of the camera body is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, an instruction to accommodate a zoom lens is outputted to the drive system of the zoom lens extended the front of the camera body.
