PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent switching to another base station during the communication of significant information. SOLUTION: The base station switching apparatus comprises: a receiving strength detection section (72) for detecting the receiving strength of a radio wave received by a slave station (60); a comparator section (76) for comparing the detected receiving strength with a preset threshold; a priority recognition section (84) for recognizing the priority of information that the slave station communicates with a present base station (40); a base station search section (78) for searching a base station wherein the detected receiving strength is greater than a receiving strength of the present base station, when the receiving strength becomes smaller than the relevant threshold; and a control section (56) for switching a base station to communicate with the slave station from the present base station to the searched base station on the condition that the recognized priority of the information is predetermined priority or less when the detected receiving strength is smaller than the threshold.
