PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine not only the occurrence of abnormality of a flame combustion state but also an abnormal tendency, without adopting a complicated constitution for determining a state of a flame signal while looking at a combustion sequence state. SOLUTION: This combustion safety device has a signal amplifier 10 for processing the flame signal from a flame detector, a frame relay 15 to be turned on and off in response to the existence of a flame, and an arithmetic unit 20 equipped in the signal amplifier. The arithmetic unit determines the occurrence of abnormality of a combustion state and the existence of an abnormal tendency only when the frame relay is turned on, and the determination is successively started at output rising time of the frame relay or when the time passes in the total of flame signal stabilizing time and frame response timing time. This determination determines the occurrence of abnormality of the combustion state and the abnormal tendency. by comparing frame data with a predetermined threshold value, by detecting the frame data before the frame response timing time more than the determining time.
