PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin decreasing an extent of damage for a thermal transfer sheet or an electronic component built in a bobbin when impact such as dropping down is added while the thermal transfer sheet wound around the bobbin is carried or attached to a printer, preventing a trouble at the time of thermal transfer recording, and having excellent flexibility in winding machining by a winder with simple work. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet supplying and/or winding bobbin, a protecting cap is detachably provided at an end of the bobbin main body. The protecting cap is provided with a cover portion covering an end portion of the bobbin main body, and a flange portion preventing the damage of a wound thermal transfer sheet end portion and the bobbin main body and preventing the deviation of a winding position of the thermal transfer sheet when a winding portion of the thermal transfer sheet wound around the bobbin main body drops down. A projecting portion for absorbing impact is provided on an end surface outside of the cover portion. Preferably, the projecting portion absorbs impact by deforming due to dropping impact.
