PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly apply an activating agent over the ink on a transfer film in a short period of time so as not to cause disturbance in the decoration layer of an article to be hydraulically-transferred. SOLUTION: The transfer film 16 having a printing pattern 12 on a water-soluble film 14 is floated on the water 18 in a transfer vessel 22. Then, the ink activating agent 26 is sprayed over the printing pattern 12 of the transfer film 16 from an electrostatic coating type spray-gun 28, depositing electrostatically the ink activating agent 26 over the printing pattern 12 for activation of the ink.
