A method for manufacturing ceramic articles with photoluminescent properties, characterized by comprising the following operative steps: forming a ceramic body (1); applying a layer of luminescent material (4) to at least one surface portion of the ceramic body (1); heating the combined ceramic body (1) and luminescent layer (4) to aggregate said material and fix it to the surrounding material of the ceramic body (1); and cooling said combination.
