<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small image processing system having a small installation space and adjusting the height of a manuscript reading unit and an operation unit at low cost in accordance with the height of an operator and whether a wheelchair is used or not. <P>SOLUTION: A copying unit 1 includes a manuscript reading unit 3 for reading out an image of a manuscript, an image forming unit 7 for generating a recording output of the image of the manuscript which is read by the manuscript unit 3 on a recording paper, and an operation unit 20 for carrying out various kinds of operations. The manuscript reading unit 3 is provided at an upper part of the main cabinet 2 which includes the image forming unit 7 independently from the main cabinet 2. A moving mechanism 16 integrally supports the manuscript reading unit 3 and the operation unit 20 and moves them to a first position downward along a front face from the upper part of the main cabinet 2 automatically, and further moves them to a desired position from the first position to the further descended second position manually. Without requiring a large installation space, the manuscript reading unit 3 and the operation unit 20 can integrally be moved to a position where an operator using a wheelchair and the like can operate easily. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
