<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of plural-in-one printing whereby images of a plurality of print jobs are printed in one sheet of print medium to reduce the number of sheets to be printed so that energy saving and extension of a life of a machine can be achieved and the time period necessary for printing can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed the method of the plural-in-one printing for forming images of a plurality of print jobs in one sheet of print medium. It is determined whether or not an image forming apparatus works in a plural-in-one printing mode (S31). When it does not work in the plural-in-one printing mode, a normal printing is performed (S37), and when working, it is determined that the apparatus works in a character-printing mode. When it does not work in the character-printing mode, a sheet of paper is reselected (S35) and the plural-in-one printing is performed (S36). When it works in the character-printing mode, it is determined whether or not the number of printing portions exceeds the number of portions printable in one sheet of paper (S33).
