<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of detecting thickness of record sheets set to a supply tray regardless of an image formation action, and performing an optimum image formation action from a first stage of a printing job and a copying job using detected thickness of the record sheets. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet feeder accommodates a sheet bundle Ps with a plurality of record sheets P aligned in a supply tray 5, separates record sheets P from the sheet bundle Ps one by one, and feeds them from the supply tray 5. The device comprises a displacement meter 75 picking up indentation and projection data on the sheet bundle side face along a thickness direction of the sheet bundle Ps relating to the sheet bundle Ps set in the supply tray 5, and a calculation processing unit 76 calculating thickness of one record sheet using the indentation and projection data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
