FREQUENCY CONVERSION CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency conversion circuit which is capable of increasing gain by reducing loss and has a wide band and flat frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: The frequency conversion circuit is equipped with: a nonequilibrium amplification circuit 1 which amplifies an input signal; a balun 2 which converts a nonequilibrium signal from the nonequilibrium amplification circuit 1 into a first equilibrium signal; a local oscillation circuit 4 which generates a local oscillation signal; and a switching circuit 3 which mixes the first equilibrium signal from the balun 2 and the local oscillation signal from the local oscillation circuit 4 and outputs a second equilibrium signal. The switching circuit 3 and the local oscillation circuit 4 are formed on a semiconductor substrate and the balun 2 is externally attached to the semiconductor substrate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
