PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which can perform appropriate communications, of which the gateway unit can acquire destination information easily, of which the analog communication terminal device can receive the destination information from the gateway unit without using new control, and to provide a gateway unit and an analog communication terminal device for use in the system. SOLUTION: When a gateway unit GW2 transmits destination information with a data modem, an analog telephone device TL 2 analyzes the destination information, and determines whether the destination is a telephone device, a facsimile machine, or a personal computer.
