PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission apparatus preventing leakage of data due to mistake of a user such as a mistake of an image to be transmitted or a mistake of a destination to which the image is to be transmitted. SOLUTION: A control section 8 revises a transmission procedure to include a procedure of accepting confirmation of transmission performance before start of transmission of image data when a protection level is higher than a prescribed level and revises a transmission procedure so as not to include a procedure of accepting confirmation of performance of transmission when the protection level is lower than the prescribed level. The control section 8 revises the transmission procedure to include the procedure of accepting the confirmation of transmission stop before the stopping of the transmission of the image data when the protection level is lower than the prescribed level, and revises the transmission procedure so as not to include the procedure of accepting the confirmation of transmission stop before the stopping of the transmission of the image data when the protection level is higher than the prescribed level.
