PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile apparatus capable of efficiently performing user limitation and operation limitation to a user. SOLUTION: Whether to be an operation limitation object is checked (S30). Concretely, whether or not an operation to be displayed is managed by an operation limitation table of Fig. 5 (not shown) is checked. When the operation is not managed, operation display is carried out and any user is allowed to perform the operation (S33), When the operation is managed, the operation limitation table is used to check whether to be operable at an operation limitation level corresponding to a user code held at the time of authentication check OK (S31). If operable, the operation display is performed (S33), and if the operation is inhibited (S31; N), the operation display is not performed (S32).
