PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously acquire information about age, sex, occupation and civil state etc. of each viewer as well as audience rating of a program of television broadcast. SOLUTION: An audience rating measurement device has a sensor for detecting a signal from an RFID tag; a private information storage section for extracting private information from the signal detected by the sensor and temporarily storing the extracted information; a channel information detector for detecting information about channels being received by a television receiver; and a data transmitter/receiver for communicating the data with an audience rating survey organization. The data transmitter/receiver transmits the private information stored in the private information storage section and the channel information detected by the channel information detector to the audience rating survey organization.
