PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an inside flat surface part flush with an outside flat surface part, to enhance the degree of flatness of the flat surfaces flush with each other, thereby to simplify manufacturing work of an electron gun, and to provide a high-quality cathode-ray tube, in an electrode component of the electron gun having a circular rib around a hole for passing electrons formed, and having the inside flat surface part surrounded by the rib and the outside flat surface part extending to the outside of the rib. SOLUTION: The flat surface part of the electrode component G1 of the electron gun having the circular rib G1b around the hole G1a for passing electrons and having the inside flat surface part G1c surrounded by the rib G1b and the outside flat surface part G1f extending to the outside is pressed and formed by a pair of dies 10 and 11 having tapered uneven surfaces 10c and 11c for projecting the surface part G1f outward from a position recessed relative to the surface part G1c; and thereafter pressed and formed by a pair of dies 12 and 13 having cross-sectionally circular uneven surfaces 12c and 13a with a diameter part passing the hole G1a at the top.
