PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which records additional information difficult to analyze to an information recording medium and reproduces the additional information, and also provide a medium and a method therefor. SOLUTION: When additional data, for example, key information applied for decoding content, key generation information, content reproduction control information, copy control information and so on, are recorded to an information recording medium, the parity of the data of a recording frame in which the additional data are inserted is computed. Then, the value of the DC control bit of the frame storing the additional data is determined and set based on the information that the computed parity of the data of the recording frame is an even or odd number, and the information that the bit value of the additional data is "0" or "1". When the data are reproduced, the configuration bit "0" or "1" of the additional data can be obtained only by detecting the parity of the recording frame. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
